Merry Christmas

Saturday, December 11, 2010

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

I know you are probably hoping for updated pictures on the Kitchen, but as of right now it is on hold till after the Holidays. It's almost done just waiting on my kitchen cabinet doors and my cooktop to be installed.

So in the meantime I thought I would spread a little Holiday cheer your way.
I have a couple friends that go all out for the Holiday and all their beautiful decor inspires me to get going. But being limited on time and ambition I thought I would fake it. I mean really if the entrance looks festive than one would think the inside would look the same...right.

The best part was this whole design was cost effective.
It cost about 3.00 total :)

Have a Safe & Merry Christmas all.

Just when I think I am done....

Just when you think I am done, I get another wild idea.
I have been doing the board and batten look and I thought this might tie the rooms together a bit more. I am hoping this might make that off looking wall make more sense.
Thoughts?

So here is a little inspiration to understand my thought process.

Now I can only hope my vision will look half as nice.

Another Peek into my insanity

I am nearing the finish line of my mini kitchen remodel. I wish I could replace the appliances and such but the budget doesn't allow it this time around. That my friends will be phase two. Here is another little peek into my progress.

Tom or row ~ Logan's spelling word this week.
The statement makes me laugh:)

My thought is maybe writing positive messages will encourage positive thinking:)

Painting gone wild

My friends think I am crazy and I sometimes wonder myself. This week I am convinced they might be right.

A few months ago I kind of tackled the livingroom remodel project. Well in true Wendy fashion when a project is 90% done I move on to another room. So anyway I had been annoyed by my kitchen for a while. The colors were warm and kitcheny but I was just feeling sick of the heavy colors. So I hope to make it feel clean, current and a little modern country. Sorry I can't seem to find a picture of the kitchen side yet.
Stay tuned in the next couple weeks I will have the new kitchen reveal.
Ohhh...and on the cheap $200 or less!

Sorry all for my poor blogging skills. Most of the time I feel I don't have anything blog worthy. Or maybe I just needed the summer off...we'll go with that.

So any way summer was a nice relaxing vacation. We didn't do much but did hit a few things on Logan's bucket list. We did a playground tour and managed to hit a few great schools. We made it to Kopernick Observatory and Most science center too.

Derek and I also managed to tackle the deck from hell this summer. We stretched it into a 3 months venture, but in the end it it looks 100% better than before. I am lovin' it but still dream of a Trex deck:)

The final day's of school

Oh what a month it has been. School is nearing an end and it has been a little crazy. There has been track meets, Bowling, Field Trip's to the zoo, Farmer's Museum and Baseball Games. There has been scouting and YMCA dances. I am sad to see it all come to an end, but we are ready. A year over means my son will move into the 5th grade. Every year it makes me sad but every year brings new joy.

It's time to say goodbye to another wonderful teacher Mrs. Ryan. She was a wonderful fit for L and will be missed.

A school year ending means running around trying to find something to say thank you. Every year I try to make something personal. K-1 it was a movies of the children, grade 2 it was a photo book, Grade three it was a framed photo. This year it has been hard to find the perfect gift.
Being a 4th grader means less time in the classroom.

So it is simply a gift. Something I'm not sure will remind her of the day's shared with my son, but something she can enjoy with her family. Candle tarts and a warmer, not very personal but something to say I am thankful.

Anyway my gifts are not always perfect but the packaging has to be cute.

So today I started with a dollar store teacher gift bag. How typical I thought...boring. Then out jumped this really cute, what they called a purse. Never would I use it as a purse, it would look a little cheesy for that. But the cutest gift bag it does make.
So add a cute Thank you tin sign, some Martha ribbon and matching tissue. Voila a cute gift bag.

Now tomorrow I might have a picture of a miserable..."you got to be kidding me mom I have to carry this purse all the way to my classroom", boy.
Fingers crossed he will carry it:)
